Hawaiian Bros will be expanding its San Antonio footprint with a new location planned for 1434 Austin Hwy, according to a recently registered project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The filing outlines a new commercial build for a multi-tenant development, with one of the spaces designated for Hawaiian Bros.
The upcoming outpost is slated to span 1,888 square feet and is expected to be part of a privately funded, ground-up commercial development in Bexar County. Construction is scheduled to begin on September 12, 2026, with a projected completion date of February 14, 2027. The total estimated cost of the project is listed at $1,250,000.
Project records show the filing was submitted under the name “Hawaiian Bros – Str 104,” with 1434 Austin Hwy, LLC listed as the property owner. The listed owner contact is Matthew Parmerlee. Excel Engineering, Inc. is handling design work, while Jeffrey A. Gutknecht is named as the registered accessibility specialist on file.
Parmerlee, who is also the Director of Development, told What Now San Antonio that the restaurant is likely to open in March 2027.
This would mark another step in the brand’s continued growth across the San Antonio market. Hawaiian Bros currently operates in the area at 427 Lombrano Street, and the chain has continued to grow its Texas presence with additional locations in the pipeline.
Founded in 2018 by brothers Cameron and Tyler McNie, Hawaiian Bros is known for its island-inspired plate lunches, featuring proteins such as huli huli chicken and luau pig served with rice and macaroni salad. The fast-casual concept has grown rapidly in recent years, with locations across multiple states and an expanding presence in Texas.
