Paradise Dynasty, a Singapore-based Chinese restaurant known for its colorful xiao long bao, is planning its first San Diego location at RaDD, the Research and Development District, on the downtown waterfront.
The restaurant is listed in recently circulated RaDD leasing and merchandising materials under “Current & Upcoming Brands at RaDD,” first reported by SanDiegoVille. The planned restaurant is expected to be located in the Alley, part of the six-block development, although an exact address has not been announced. No opening date has been confirmed. It remains unclear whether Paradise Dynasty will replace the previously announced Le Shrimp Noodle Bar, another Paradise Group concept that no longer appears in the latest RaDD materials.
Paradise Dynasty is part of Paradise Group, a Singapore-based restaurant company founded by Eldwin Chua. The brand opened its first U.S. location at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa in 2021, followed by a second Southern California location at The Americana at Brand in Glendale in November 2025. The San Diego restaurant would be the brand’s third Southern California location.
The restaurant is best known for its Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao, available in eight flavors including original, crab roe, cheese, garlic, kimchi, Szechuan, BBQ pulled pork, and black truffle. The company says it uses ingredients such as beet, carrot, and spinach to create the dumplings’ different colors. The menu also includes dim sum, wontons, soups, appetizers, meat, seafood, vegetables, fried rice, noodles, and Shanghainese ramen.
Paradise Dynasty also offers vegan, vegetarian, and some gluten-free dishes, although the restaurant notes that shared equipment can result in allergen cross-contact. Desserts include chocolate lava buns, sweet xiao long bao, mango pudding, and mochi. Drinks include teas, lemonades, flavored sodas, and milk teas.
The San Diego location would add another restaurant specializing in xiao long bao to the local market, where Din Tai Fung already operates at Westfield UTC in La Jolla. The RaDD restaurant would give Paradise Dynasty a downtown waterfront location as the brand continues expanding in the United States. Further details about the restaurant, including its exact space and opening date, have yet to be announced.
