Pacific Beach Ice Cream Co. Celebrates Win
Pacific Beach Ice Cream Co.’s Dad’s Real Mint Chip was named Best Flavor of the Year by Scoop San Diego. The family-owned ice cream shop is managed by Dave Wright. Inspired by his parents’ acclaimed ice cream shop in Nevada City, Wright brought the family tradition to Pacific Beach.
Many of the recipes, perfected by Dave’s father over the years, now serve as the foundation of the Pacific Beach menu. The award-winning Dad’s Real Mint Chip flavor was one of his specialties. He named the flavor in tribute to his father’s legacy.
The flavor is the result of a unique blend of spearmint leaves and dark chocolate flakes. Judges at Scoop San Diego sampled more than 10 standout entries before awarding top honors to Pacific Beach Ice Cream Co.
New July Flavors Announced
Summer continues to bring out the fun side of Pacific Beach Ice Cream Co. The shop unveiled its July lineup of new flavors on Instagram. Three of them are dairy varieties, and two are non-dairy flavors.
The dairy flavors include Red Velvet Dough, Taro & Raspberry Cheesecake. Golden Milk prepared in a coconut base and Cucumber-Lime-Mint Italian Ice are part of the vegan offerings. The brand also notified followers of another flavor to be released later this month: POG (passion fruit, orange & guava) Italian ice.
The shop continues to put creative spins on classic flavors. Guests can sample a range of flavors before settling on a scoop.
