A beloved Livermore dining destination, Zephyr Bar and Grill announced its closure. The closure comes nearly a year after the restaurant reopened following a July 2025 fire that kept it closed for several months.
Zephyr Bar and Grill Closing
Lynn and Randy Tei own and operate Zephyr Bar and Grill, a restaurant and bar at 1736 First Street in Livermore. The restaurant features a bar and traditional dining room.
The menu of the restaurant focuses on classic American steakhouse fare, seafood, pasta, and desserts. The restaurant also serves martinis, cocktails, and wine.
In a social media post, the owners announced that Zephyr will close in October 31 after more than 22 years in business.
The owners thanked the community and customers for their support and mentioned that it was a pleasure to serve them. They also added an appreciation note for the staff and said, “And especially grateful for the incredible team members, past and present, who helped make Zephyr what it has been for more than two decades.”
Until closing, the restaurant will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

What Led to the Closure
The owners said the past year had been challenging for the restaurant. Zephyr closed for several months following a fire in July 2025.
“We rebuilt and reopened with tremendous hope for Zephyr future. We gave it everything we had, which makes this decision that much more difficult,” the post read.
The owners also highlighted that for the past several months they have been trying to sell the Livermore location of Zephyr. They said, “Our hope was to find a new owner who could carry the restaurant forward and allow it to remain part of the Livermore community.” The owners said they were unable to find a buyer, which ultimately led to the closure.
The restaurant also has a sister location on First Street, Suite 100 in Brentwood.
Before its permanent closure, the owners encouraged the customers to visit the Livermore restaurant. They wrote, “Come have your favorite Zephyr dish one more time. Raise a glass with us. Bring back an old memory—or make one more new one.”
