Egg Palace is preparing to debut at 4101 Broadway in Oakland, where the concept will operate as a restaurant and bar serving breakfast and dinner, owner Brack DeFries told WhatNow. He also shared that the restaurant’s debut will be in November.
The team behind Egg Palace is also behind Egg Pals, a pop-up concept that has operated around Oakland for the past four years. In an Instagram announcement, the team said it has hosted pop-ups on sidewalks, in parklets, and in kitchens in partnership with local businesses, and described its move into its own space as the next step for the concept.
The restaurant will open in the morning with a breakfast-focused menu building on the breakfast sandwiches Egg Pals served during its pop-up days. The expanded menu will include breakfast plates and grain bowls, according to DeFries.
In the evening, Egg Palace will shift toward a bar-focused format, with a food menu designed to complement the drinks. The evening menu will feature the Pal Burger, along with additional sandwiches, salads, and a selection of seasonal bar snacks.
The new restaurant is taking over a space previously occupied by TrueBurger. On its Instagram announcement, the Egg Pals team also thanked TrueBurger for helping make the transition possible and encouraged customers to continue visiting the burger restaurant at its original location at 146 Grand Ave.
The team has also launched a Kickstarter campaign to support the opening, according to its Instagram announcement.
