The owners of Cadet are bringing a new tequila bar to Downtown Napa. Chispa is coming to 1500 1st Street #140 — landing among eateries and bars like Mercantile Social, Levendi Winery & Tasting Room, Oenotri, and Eikos Sushi. Owners predict that the bar will be ready to open in early 2023.

Co-owners Aubrey Bailey and Taylor Kindred opened Cadet in 2014. They share with the San Francisco Chronicle that Chispa will be “sleeker” and “more sophisticated” than their former venture, referring to Chispa as their “graduation project.”

The outlet reports that Chispa’s beverage menu will focus on tequila and mezcal cocktails and use traditional Mexican ingredients like tamarind and damiana herb liquor. Food offerings will include oysters, seafood towers, ceviche, short rib quesabirria, and caviar.

Marco Garcia, Chispa’s bar manager, plans to source liquor from family-owned producers and develop a collection with geographical, topographical, and climatic range.
