Former Fishermen’s Grotto No. 9 seafood restaurant will give way to Woods Beer & Wine Co. at 2875 Taylor Street, in San Francisco. The brand has finalized a lease for approximately 2,000 square feet on the ground floor of the former Fishermen’s Grotto No. 9 space, according to The San Francisco Business Times.
Recent public filings from the Port of San Francisco report that the project is planned to include indoor seating, outdoor patio space facing a new public plaza, and an adjacent trailer kitchen to expand food production beyond the main kitchen.
Founded in San Francisco, Woods Beer & Wine Co. describes itself as “a crew of creative brewers and winemakers, adventurous drinkers, unique Bay Area bars, and a proud part of California’s inspiring community of makers, chefs, artists, and business owners.”
Bay Area fans praise the brand for its creative approach to craft beer and natural wine, paired with relaxed, design-forward neighborhood spaces. Woods Beer & Wine Co. operates multiple locations in the region, blending taproom culture with casual food offerings and a focus on community-driven hospitality.
Woods Beer & Wine Co. also operates its Woods Community Club, a membership program that brings together the brand’s beer and wine offerings under a single, curated experience. Described as spanning “east and west, beer and wine, tradition and innovation,” the club is designed to “blur the lines between craft beer and natural wine” while offering members access to small-batch, community-only releases and curated cellar selections.
