A new destination for modern, sustainably made furniture is headed to the Mission District as Formr is preparing to open a showroom at 1917 Mission Street. The business was selected to receive funding through San Francisco’s Storefront Opportunity Grant program, an initiative designed to help small businesses transform vacant commercial spaces into long-term neighborhood destinations.

Founded by designers and makers with a focus on circular manufacturing, Formr creates handcrafted furniture using reclaimed and responsibly sourced materials. The company emphasizes local production, timeless design, and reducing waste by giving high-quality materials a second life.

The new Mission Street location will provide customers with a dedicated space to explore Formr’s collection of tables, seating, shelving, and other home furnishings while connecting directly with the brand’s design philosophy.

The showroom is among 39 new storefront projects backed by the Office of Economic and Workforce Development through the Storefront Opportunity Grant, which provides financial assistance to businesses opening in eligible commercial corridors throughout San Francisco. The initiative aims to reduce vacancies while supporting entrepreneurs and strengthening neighborhood business districts.
