T&T Supermarket announced plans to open a new location at 2086 Newpark Mall Rd, in Newark, marking the company’s largest store in California to date, according to The Business Journals. The upcoming supermarket will span approximately 72,600 square feet and is expected to open during the winter of 2027.
The Newark store follows the opening of T&T’s first California location in San Jose, which took place at the beginning of June and drew asian product fans eager to experience the Canadian store’s extensive selection of Asian groceries, prepared foods, bakery items, fresh seafood, and specialty products. The company has also announced plans for additional Bay Area locations, underscoring its long-term commitment to the region.
Founded in Vancouver in 1993, T&T Supermarket has grown into Canada’s largest Asian grocery chain, offering products and cuisines representing China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Its stores are known for combining a full-service supermarket with in-house bakeries, hot food counters, made-to-order meals, and specialty departments that create an immersive shopping experience.
The Newark location is expected to create approximately 400 jobs, further strengthening T&T’s presence in the Bay Area as demand for international grocery concepts continues to grow.
