Gem Studio is preparing to open at Alderwood, at 3000 184th St. SW, Unit 0366, in Lynnwood. Founder and CEO Matt James told What Now Seattle that the company plans to open in September.

The new studio will be located inside the mall near Potato Corner, Cinnabon, Vans, and Tillys. Alderwood’s directory currently lists Gem Studio as coming soon.

Gem Studio offers hands-on jewelry workshops where guests make their own pieces, including silversmithing, charm jewelry, and permanent jewelry. The company also sells a selection of ready-made jewelry.

James started Gem Studio in Provo, Utah, in 2017. What began as a fundraiser to support a school for at-risk children in Uganda later grew into a jewelry workshop business. The company continues to support the nonprofit 1 Heart 1 Mind, which provides education and housing for children in Uganda.

Gem Studio now has U.S. locations in Boise, Gilbert, Irvine, Park City, Provo, Salt Lake City, St. George, and Waikiki, as well as an operation in Canada.

More details about the Alderwood opening are expected as September approaches. Follow Gem Studio on Instagram for updates.
