What Now reported back in September on plans for Sunshine Restaurant Partners, a major franchisee in the IHOP network, to open a new IHOP location in New Port Richey. Now, the franchisee appears to have its sights set on Haines City for its next IHOP.

According to plan review paperwork submitted by Sunshine Restaurant Merger Sub, LLC, a new IHOP is in the works at 37051 US-27, near the intersection with Bates Road.

In other IHOP news, the breakfast chain has recently launched new items like Chicken & Banana Pancakes (You’ve heard the song. Now get the meal. 4 buttermilk crispy chicken strips & 3 banana pancakes topped with fresh banana slices. Served with choice of sauce) and the Bold BBQ Pulled Pork Omelette (Hickory-smoked pulled pork paired with a sweet & Tangy BBQ sauce, green peppers, onion & Jack & cheddar cheeses).

“Since 1958, IHOP has been the place where people connect over breakfast, enjoy study breaks, grab a bite before or after sporting events, and so much more,” says the IHOP website. “And no matter what menu items they order, there’s one ingredient that’s always constant—a smile. We’ve seen millions and millions of smiles over the years, and now shared in photos across our social properties. In fact, smiles are so much a part of our culture that we changed our logo to include one.”

Opening in the US-27 location, IHOP would join nearby restaurants like The Brunch Box by Metamorfic and Culver’s. The address in question, is also the address of a Lowe’s Home Improvement location.
