In a small retail center just north of Waters & Armenia Plaza (the aptly named plaza on the northwest corner of West Waters Avenue and North Armenia Avenue), a new sports bar looks to be preparing to open its doors.
Plan review paperwork submitted by La Vitanuova Sports Bar and Grill LLC shows a restaurant by that name (La Vitanuova Sports Bar and Grill) opening at 8502 Armenia Ave.
That places the new sports bar and restaurant in a food and beverage community that includes restaurants like China Yuan, Taurus Bar Lounge & Disco, Viet Sandwich, and La Casa Catracha.
Behind La Vitanuova Sports Bar and Grill LLC is owner Santiago Rodriguez. What Now contacted Rodriguez on Monday to ask about details of La Vitanuova’s menu and projected opening timeline. Rodriguez confirmed news of the opening but declined to comment at this time.
That leaves us asking, What’s in a name? Where “Sports Bar and Grill” might have us expecting burgers and fries, “La Vitanuova” paints a more Italian-style picture. Pizza and the game, anybody?
