After more than two decades in Pinellas Park, Quaker Steak & Lube is preparing to close its doors for good. The restaurant, located at 10400 49th Street North, will serve its final customers on July 5, 2026.
Tampa Bay’s Only Quaker Steak & Lube to Close
Quaker Steak & Lube, located at 10400 49th Street North in Pinellas Park near Clearwater, announced its closure on social media. General Manager Hillary Smith announced the closure in a social media post.
As the restaurant’s closure was confirmed, customers shared memories of visiting the restaurant over the years. The restaurant did not provide a reason for the decision in the official post.
In the post, Smith reflected on joining the team under owners Bill and Laura Church in August 2009. She also noted that the restaurant will continue hosting its regular weekly events through its final days. Smith thanked guests for their support and encouraged them to stop by before the restaurant’s final day.
About the Restaurant
Quaker Steak & Lube opened in 1974 in Sharon, Pennsylvania. The concept evolved into a number of states and gained a following for its extensive wing menu and automotive trivia.
The Pinellas Park location was opened in 2003 and grew to be a familiar landmark in the local food scene. The restaurant featured over 25 wing sauces and regularly sponsored community fundraisers, cruise-ins, happy hours and its famous Bike Night events.
Quaker Steak & Lube in Tampa Bay has a few more weeks to serve its last meal to its many regular customers.
