Jersey Mike’s Subs, a fast-casual sandwich chain known for freshly sliced subs and its signature “Mike’s Way” preparation, has opened its fourth Toronto location at 40 Eglinton Ave. E.

The company’s newest Toronto restaurant officially opened on Aug. 5 at Yonge and Eglinton, according to a press release from Redberry Restaurants. The location is operated by Redberry, Jersey Mike’s Canadian franchise partner, as part of a larger expansion plan that calls for 300 Canadian locations by 2035, according to Toronto.com. The new restaurant offers Jersey Mike’s menu of hot and cold subs, fresh grilled sandwiches, and other menu items.

The opening continues Jersey Mike’s growth across Canada, with Redberry now operating close to 40 locations across five provinces. The company has recently expanded into Manitoba and British Columbia while continuing to add locations throughout Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area. Other Toronto locations include Union Station at 65 Front St. W., 425 University Ave., and 160 Bloor St. E.

Jersey Mike’s was founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, originally as Mike’s Subs. The brand has since grown into a fast-casual restaurant franchisor with more than 3,300 locations across the United States and Canada. In 2024, Redberry Restaurants became Jersey Mike’s Area Director for Canada through a development agreement to expand the brand’s presence nationwide.

The menu includes cold subs, hot grilled sandwiches, wraps, and cheesesteaks made with meats and cheeses sliced in-store and bread baked at each location. Jersey Mike’s signature “Mike’s Way” preparation features lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar, and spices. The company has also built its Canadian growth around community fundraising efforts, including its ongoing partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada.

Redberry’s continued expansion will bring more Jersey Mike’s locations to Canadian communities over the coming years. The company’s goal of opening 300 restaurants by 2035 will make Canada one of the brand’s largest markets outside the United States.
