Union Market foodies are about to get a taste of some of the best traditional Mexican cuisine north of the border. Alero has already won over the hearts of DC diners and is further cementing its status as a District staple by opening a Union Market location, reports the Washington Business Journal.
The concept will be making its Union Market entrance at 202 Florida Ave NE. Alero will be occupying a 3,750 square foot space at the base of The 202, a luxury apartment building. The building is not actually in Union Market proper, but is near enough for government work at less than a mile away.
Alero has been serving up Washington DC’s best happy hour for over 25 years. The restaurant has two locations currently open and operational-one in Dupont Circle and the other on U Street. The concept has at least one other log on the fire-it is developing a storefront at 1301 H Street NE.
An opening timeline is not presently available for the Union Market Alero. What Now DC has reached out to the company for further details, but has not yet heard back.
