An Arlington storefront is getting a new beginning. The Pentagon City’s Westpost space that housed Walgreen’s until its closure in May will soon begin a fresh chapter as a Barnes & Noble, reports the Washington Business Journal.
Arlington County is currently reviewing permits and plans intended to bring the literary heavy-hitter to 1301 S. Joyce Street. The storefront will afford Barnes & Noble approximately 11,000 square feet of space in which to stock its books and accessories.
The popular chain does not yet have a set opening date for this new Arlington location, however it is on deck to open in early 2027 according to a statement from the store.
The upcoming storefront will be Barnes & Noble’s second location in Arlington following the remodeling and reopening of a Clarendon book shop in May. The brand has been making a strong push towards opening more brick and mortars, enjoying an intense resurgence this year.
