A busy hospitality group is preparing to change the way Virginians think about Italian dining. EAT Restaurant Group is getting ready to debut its latest project, a concept called Civita Italia which will differentiate itself from other similarly-focused eateries by serving authentic Italian cuisine that is not focused on a single region, but the country at large.
Civita Italia will be greeting customers in a newly erected 7,000 square foot building located at 3401 Haydenpark Lane. A precise opening date is not yet available, however the restaurant aims to be customer-ready next month.
The facility will offer visitors an array of seating options, including bar, lounge, and al fresco dining on an outdoor patio.
While the atmosphere will doubtless draw an impressive crowd on its own, the menu, overseen by chef Kevin LaCivita, is the true star. EAT Restaurant Group President Chris Tsui previously explained to Richmond Biz Sense: “He’s a classically French-trained chef. I’ve loved his cooking for 20-some years and now have the opportunity to open a restaurant with him. There’s a broad choice of food. We’re not specifically narrowing into one region.”
The Civita Italia website further stokes excitement, promising: “From housemade pasta and traditional sauces to carefully selected antipasti, fresh seafood, and rich Italian classics, our menu is designed to celebrate authentic Italian cooking with a refined, modern touch. Complement your meal with selections from our thoughtfully curated wine list, featuring bottles chosen to pair beautifully with every course.”
