Setting out to prove that the third time’s the charm, a popular DMV brewery is preparing to begin construction on its newest location. Right Proper Brewing will commence work on its hat trick at the end of this month, reports The Washington Business Journal.
Right Proper initially hoped to open its latest home at 1625 Eckington Place NE in fall of 2024, but experienced a slew of complications. However, the end appears to be in sight and locals may be enjoying a refreshing beer as soon as late October.
According to a press release regarding the project, Right Proper will have a 5,500 square foot space, with seating for up to 180 customers. The brewery will even have a cheese counter where guests can grab a wedge to enjoy with their beer or to take along home.
Right Proper will be bringing a warm ambiance to the Eckington Yards development, described in the press release as: “Floor-to-ceiling windows will offer a chance to view the seven-barrel brew house while garage doors open up the dining room to the woonerf — a private, cobblestone street offering opportunities for community events. Inspired by Belgian bistros, the main dining room will have clean, modern surfaces, allowing an approachable, upscale environment. A mezzanine serves as the perfect space for friends and families to gather for lounging and board games, and a private space allows for large groups and private dining.”
Speaking of dining, patrons will have a delicious array of classic treats to choose from, curated by Executive Chef Jonatan Bohr. Alongside a shifting seasonal menu, Right Proper will offer dishes including the fried chicken sandwich, peanut Thai chili Brussels sprouts, and beer-battered cheese curds.
Right Proper co-owner Leah Cheston tells What Now DC that the brewery is excited to become a part of the community, saying: “We aim to be a neighborhood gathering place, where friends can gather for happy hour after a climb at Bouldering Project, or grab a meal before heading to movie night at Alethia Tanner Park.”
