A popular DMV-area Mediterranean restaurant is preparing to help Bethesda kick off the summer. Agora will be opening its hotly anticipated third location in Maryland this June, reports Bethesda Today.
Agora is taking over the space vacated by Daily Grill in the Hyatt Regency hotel located at One Bethesda Metro Center. Word of the Mediterranean restaurant’s new location first came down in July of 2025, and the eatery will be opening its doors nearly a year after that announcement. Agora is aiming to greet its first customers on June 1 of this year.
Agora-which has been named one of Northern Virginia Magazine’s “Top 50 Best Restaurants”-will be bringing a varied menu to its Bethesda home. A press release previously provided to What Now DC describes what’s in store, saying: “Agora Bethesda will feature a mezze-style menu inspired by the culinary traditions of Turkey, Greece, and Lebanon, led by Executive Chef Ismet Sahin. The menu will spotlight seasonal, locally sourced ingredients with signature dishes such as flame-grilled kebabs, house-made künefe, and pistachio soufflé, alongside vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.”
Agora owners Betul Uslu and Ismail Uslu are excited about bringing the concept’s cuisine to a new market, saying: “At Agora, we’ve always believed that food has the power to bring people together. Every dish we serve is rooted in tradition but reimagined with fresh, local ingredients and a modern touch. With our new Bethesda location, we’re staying true to Agora’s mission of creating memorable experiences through authentic flavors and heartfelt hospitality. We’re especially excited to collaborate with Maryland farms and winemakers to ensure everything we offer is responsibly sourced and thoughtfully prepared.”
