There’s a new (coffee) kid coming to Old Town. Local businessman Kahan S. Dhillon, Jr. has filed paperwork to bring a fresh pot of joe, courtesy of a concept called Kingsley Cafe, to Alexandria, reports local media outlet ALXNow.
Pending approval, the shop will be moving into a 900 square foot space on the ground floor of 910 King Street. The special use permit paperwork filed by Kingsley Cafe shows that the eatery will have seating for up to 10 customers. The restaurant will be prepared to serve hungry Alexandrians all day; Kingsley’s proposed hours of operations are 6 am to 8 pm, Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 10 pm on Saturdays, and 8 am to 6 pm on Sundays.
An abundance of information is not currently available about Alexandria’s next coffee fix, however it seems that Kingsley will be serving traditional cafe fare, including both food and drink.
Locals still need to wait a bit before sipping a piping hot java from their new neighborhood place. The public will have until May 15 to comment on the cafe. The director of planning and zoning can then approve the project and the next steps can commence.
