A beloved Rockville restaurant is getting a new start in the new year. El Patio Argentine is preparing to pack up its pots and pans and relocate to a storefront in the Traville Village Center, reports local medi outlet MoCo Show.

After more than 20 years in its 5240 Randolph Road home, El Patio is moving to 9755 Traville Gateway Drive. The restaurant is taking over the 4,840 square foot space previously occupied by Nantucket’s Reef in the Traville Village Center. While the move was originally slated to be executed by fall of 2025, the process has taken longer than expected. However, the relocation is gaining momentum and it appears to be on track to open at some point in the first half of 2026.

El Patio ownership will be speaking to Montgomery County’s Alcohol Beverage Services on January 15 of next year, bringing the restaurant even closer to greeting and serving customers.

Partners in business and life Guillermo Ribulotta and Angela Delrio initially opened El Patio in 2001. The combination restaurant and bakery has made quite an impression on locals through its delicious menu and expansive Argentine wine selection. The website offers this insight as to what’s in store for Traville Village Center visitors: “Our specialties include empanadas and quiches with several vegetarian options, sausages (chorizos), chimichurri sauce, milanesas and traditional Argentinean barbecue (parrillada).”
