Spot of Tea, a popular boba tea shop, has recently signed a lease to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 2101 P St. NW in October.
This will be Spot of Tea’s third location as the company has one located at Union Market and another situated inside the Streets Market at 2400 14th St. NW, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Spot of Tea’s new location, spanning 1,900 square feet, will allow the company to expand its seating area as well as its snacks and beverages menu. The boba tea shop will be on two levels, with operations set to be on the lower floor, while an expanded seating area will be on the upper floor.
Guests can expect to find signature items such as Blue Jasmine, hibiscus mango, and vanilla taro drinks, among other beverages when the new cafe opens. Spot of Team was first launched in 2017 at local DC farmers markets.
“In the beginning, we signed with Streets Market and Union Market because they were great opportunities, they made sense at the time, and we thought it was a great way to work out some of the processes,” co-owner Dillon Chai told the Washington Business Journal.
Chai continued: “The reason why we decided to expand into our own bricks-and-mortar, that it gives you more control over the decor you want, the ambiance you want, and the full set of hours. Also, we can sell a wider variety of products.”
