An expanding taco chain known for its superior cuisine and amazing customer service will be bringing a little extra heat to DC next summer. Talkin’ Tacos may be Florida-based, but the chain has made homes in the hearts-and stomachs-of diners across the country, DC included. The brand will be increasing its DMV presence when it opens its second regional location next summer, reports the Washington Business Journal.

The restaurant, founded by lifelong friends Omar Al-Massalkhi and Mohammad Farraj, opened its first DC location in Dupont Circle over a year ago. Talkin’ Tacos will be serving up a second District helping in a 2,000 square foot storefront located at 1400 Rhode Island Avenue, NW.

Daryl E. Perez, Talkin’ Tacos’ Executive Director of Corporate and Franchise Operations, generously made some time to fill What Now DC in on the chain’s upcoming Logan Circle location. “We picked Logan Circle as part of a strategic expansion plan in the DC Area.” he says, adding, “We believe we can bring Logan Circle something different, flavorful, bold, and that aligns with the late-night scene. Very few times you find high-quality food at late hours, and this is the gap we see ourselves filling at Logan Circle!”

Thanks to its Dupont Circle location, Talkin’ Tacos has developed an ardent and passionate DC fanbase, giving the brand the confidence to expand its local presence.

Talkin’ Tacos fans already know what a treat Logan Circle diners are in for, and Perez assures future regulars that they can rest easy knowing the concept will be maintaining all of the qualities that make it so memorable. He states: “Talkin’ Tacos remains consistent nationwide, across all current and future locations. This principle not only highlights our amazing food but also the overall experience for our consumers. From our easy-to-order process, overall dining experience, our art, and most importantly to us, our industry-leading customer service.”

Perez explains that the Logan Circle and Dupont Circle locations are the opening salvo of a broader expansion plan: “This is just the beginning! We opened in Dupont Circle back in August 2024, with a vision to bring Talkin’ Tacos to as many neighborhoods as possible. We created a strong foundation by building long-lasting relationships with our customers, and we established our name by offering industry-leading customer service. And now it is time to expand.  Some of these areas include Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, Noma, and more!”

Talkin’ Tacos visitors will be able to choose from a delicious menu featuring some traditional favorites like birria tacos and some less conventional selections including bang bang shrimp tacos. The company that began as a food truck where Al-Massalkhi and Farraj served up their favorite tacos has spread to more than 25 locations, with no signs of stopping.

Logan Circle residents eager to sink their teeth into the restaurant’s fare can mark their calendars for August of 2026.
