Harbor East is getting ready to welcome a new arrival, certain to thrill area book lovers. Barnes and Noble is planning a stand alone location in the area, and is set to open before the end of the year, reports Baltimore Business Journal.
The beloved chain will be taking over a 10,000 square foot storefront located at 801 Aliceanna Street. Barnes and Noble will be a distinctively new direction for the space, which housed Oceanaire Seafood Room until its closure in March of this year.
Harbor East Management Group president Tim O’Donald explains that the bookstore’s arrival is a dream for the area, saying: “We’ve had our eye on Barnes & Noble for years, and we’re excited to officially welcome them to Harbor East.”
The Harbor East location will mark an exciting return for Barnes & Noble, which shuttered its last Baltimore stand-alone storefront in 2020. The bookstore, which can trace its roots back to 1873, is arguably the most recognizable name in retail books, making its return one to be celebrated among the city’s bibliophiles.
