Georgetown is on deck to be the next home for a retail concept burning up the collectible and novelty scene. Pop Mart has plans to open a new location in the historic neighborhood, an arrival certain to bring joy to area shoppers.

Pop Mart is moving into the 3221 M Street NW storefront that previously housed Barbour. An opening timeline is not presently available for the storefront, though the concept has filed sign permits with DC’s Historic Preservation Review Board.

Pop Mart has been making a concerted push into the DMV. The chain has stores in development in Annapolis, Bethesda, and Tysons.

Pop Mart was founded in Beijing in 2010. The store specializes in memorabilia and collectibles and often partners with major brands and recognizable properties like Disney, Marvel, and Harry Potter. The chain operates over 1,000 retail locations globally. The absolute powerhouse of retail has inspired enthusiasm in shoppers in every community it enters.
