Look out San Diegans—your night life is about to get a little better, especially for those of you mourning the loss of the neighborhood bar Elbow Room. A new bar will open soon at 5225 Kearny Villa Road in San Diego. The Jolly Joker Tavern is coming to San Diego curtesy of co-owners Amber Miller and Michael Brewer.

While we were unable to determine much about the new bar’s aesthetic, a recent Craigslist advertisement shares, “What was previously known as the Elbow Room is under new ownership and we are pleased to announce the opening of The Jolly Joker Tavern!” The ad confirms the bar will open soon and indicates the bar’s menu will boast an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, wine, and bottled and draught beer.

What Now San Diego covered the closure of Elbow Room earlier this year. The neighborhood bar shuttered its doors after nearly a decade of service citing the Covid-19 Pandemic and the financial pressures that resulted as reasons for the closure.
