The James Island Board of Zoning Appeals has approved a request for a coffee shop concept on Folly Road in James Island. According to the meeting summary, the owner is “eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to work with the Town of James Island to contribute positively to the community.”

The owner has requested What Now Charleston keep certain details under wraps as they are still in very early development stages. However, they did mention that they’d like to offer a full line of coffee and pastries.

Per public records, the unnamed cafe plans to put picnic tables in its spacious outdoor area as it’s “an ideal place to sit around, take care of business, or make calls.” The hope is that it will be a community-centric hang out spot “where residents can ride their bikes to and work or just enjoy a cup of coffee.”

Proposed hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
