Two-year old craft beer bar, Southbay Tap House is gearing up for a second location. Keeping it in the South Bay, our intel suggests the new bar will land in the Coronado Village Shopping Center in Otay Mesa West.

Owners and brother and sister team, Cesar and Melany Duran, discussed their South Bay connections and teased their expansion on a recent episode of the Emo Brown Podcast. Their business model is based on a love for beer and a need in the San Ysidro community.

“We keep the whole tap house concept, bringing in really good craft beer into San Ysidro, which was the main goal, and giving it that twist,” explains Cesar Duran to podcast host Steve O Garcia.

Southbay Tap House has survived the pandemic through taking over a bit of outdoor space to continue to operate through regulation changes. The casual beer bar is your stop to watch a game, a boxing match, and order up a Michelada. South Bay Tap House is keeping close by their San Ysidro roots, planning their second craft beer stop.

An official opening date has yet to be announced. Follow Southbay Tap House on Instagram for more information.
