The Nashville-style hot chicken chain is expanding in Southern California. What Now Los Angeles reports the Las Vegas-based restaurant is heading West with locations coming to Cerritos in Los Angeles County and San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. Houston’s will replace Toscana Cafe & Wine Bar at Fifth Avenue and K Street.

On their menu you’ll find hot chicken sandwiches, tenders, Belgian waffles, fries, and an assortment of flavored and frozen Lemonades.

Their chicken comes in heat levels ranging from No Spice up to “Houston, we have a problem.” The latter uses Carolina Reaper and Scorpion Pepper and requires brave customers to sign a waiver releasing the restaurant of responsibility for their scorched taste buds.

Co-Founder Houston Crosta and partner Edmond Baresghian shared the San Diego location will be the first Houston’s Hot Chicken to feature a full bar. Fingers crossed they’ll roll out alcoholic Frozen Lemonades and Daiquiris.

Houston’s currently operates in Henderson, NV but aren’t cluckin’ around with their expansion plans. According to their Instagram, nine more locations are in the works. Houston’s in the Gaslamp is projected to open Summer 2022. Learn more at their Website.
