“America’s favorite hometown burger joint” is coming to Lower Macungie Township. Wayback Burgers’ new franchise will open at 5585 Hamilton Blvd. sometime mid-way through 2022. Wayback’s 16th Pennsylvania franchisee-owned location is owned by partners Sanket Mehta, Anjali Shelat, and Shivang Shelat.

“Sanket, Shivang, and I are excited to be opening our first Wayback Burgers restaurant and look forward to delivering excellent service and exceptional meals to Trexlertown,” Anjali Shelat said according to The Morning Call.

Lower Macungie Township’s Wayback Burgers will have 1,758 sq. ft. of space with banquettes, booths, and community tables for seating. You’ll also be able to see the burger-flipping Wayback crew prepare your meal through a glass window kitchen.

“We are pleased to continue the expansion of the Wayback Burgers brand in Pennsylvania with the lease signing announcement of our Trexlertown restaurant,” Patrick Conlin, president of Wayback Burgers, said in the release. “With operations in 32 states and new restaurants extending our footprint nationwide, it is an exciting time to be a part of the Wayback Burgers family, and we look forward to working with excellent franchise partners like Sanket Mehta, Anjali Shelat, and Shivang Shelat to introduce Wayback Burgers to the Trexlertown community.”

The first Wayback Burgers was built in 1991 in Newark, Delaware. The company, which is now based in Connecticut, offers single or double beef or Impossible patty burgers. They also have a variety of sandwiches like their BLT, Cheesteak and WB Cod, as well as chicken and veggie burgers. Wayback Burgers also serves hand-dipped milkshakes, hot dogs, salads, fries, onion rings, nachos, and mac and cheese bites.
