Barrington is getting ready to “meat” its newest neighborhood deli.

Led by mother-son duo Brittany and Anthony Christinzio, Anthony’s Italian Deli will open at 25 W. Gloucester Pike, Unit A, according to 42 Freeway.

The deli will serve a selection of sandwiches, prepared foods and imported Italian specialties, bringing a taste of Italy to Barrington.

“We want to build something the community will love,” Christinzio shared on her social media channels.

She invited followers to share what they would like to see on the deli’s menu and shelves.

Followers suggested adding fresh mozzarella, chicken cutlets, Italian cookies, pickles and homemade soups, along with gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The announcement also sparked excitement, congratulations and nostalgia among locals who remember the space as Sally’s Deli, where penny candy once lined the shelves.

Christinzio has yet to share further updates on social media, but the outlet reported plumbing work and an interior buildout are underway.

The duo plan to open Anthony’s Italian Deli in 2027. Stay tuned!
