Well Crafted Beer Company was started by five friends who liked to drink beer. And they liked to drink beer so much that they talked a lot about the stuff. That talking, one day, turned into them brewing it for themselves in their own basements and garages. Now, Well Crafted Beer Company is poised to open its second location in Ambler.
The company, which has a brewpub and beer garden on Madison Street in Lansdale, announced on their Instagram page that they will acquire Ambler Beer Company’s assets and open a production facility and tasting room at 300 Brookside Ave. in Building 19, Suite E in the Ambler Yard mixed-use development.
The Philadelphia Business Journal reports that the acquisition will allow Well Crafted Beer to add Ambler Beer’s 10 barrel brew system to its existing seven-barrel system. This will enable them to boost retail sales in restaurants, bars, and stores. Ambler will continue operations in their 4,500 sq. ft. 100-seat taproom until early 2022. Well Crafted Beer will renovate the site’s existing outdoor patio to accommodate more seating and build a kitchen, which they hope to have open by the end of 2022.
