Ben & Jerry’s, a beloved ice cream brand in many households, is opening a franchised location in historic Folsom next year. Led by husband-and-wife team Justin and Amy Pierce, the scoop shop is anticipated to open in April 2025 at 711 Sutter St. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal.
Justin Pierce told the Business Journal that they expect to get the keys in December to start renovations and hope to open no later than next April. The space will follow a design provided by the corporation, which will provide indoor seating and a service counter where customers can choose from the company’s favorite flavors and customize their toppings.
“We moved to El Dorado Hills from Napa four years ago and wanted to start a business locally to plant ourselves in the community,” Pierce told the Business Journal. “When we moved here, we realized the area was lacking in scoop shops so we thought it was a great opportunity to team up with Ben & Jerry’s.”
The franchisees hadn’t replied to What Now Sacramento’s email inquiry for comments by the time of this coverage. Currently, the only other Ben & Jerry’s location in the area is in Lincoln’s Thunder Valley Casino Resort food court.
