Specialty foods store Savi Provisions is headed to college. The gourmet grocery store is set to open a new location in Emory Village, at 1593 N Decatur Road, along the Emory Village roundabout across from Emory University.
The space was once home to pizza and brewery Slice and Pint, and before that, Everybody’s Pizza. Once SAVI Provisions moves in, it will be the only gourmet grocery store in an area heavy with college kid-friendly fast-casual options, like Panera Bread, Dragon Bowl, Falafel King, and, of course, Dominos Pizza.
No opening date has been announced, and a representative for Savi Provisions was not immediately available for comment, but it’s safe to expect a spread similar to the one at Savi’s current locations: local produce, meats, cheeses, pantry items, beer and wine, baked goods, and prepared specialty sandwiches, salads, and dishes at the deli.
If there’s one thing we know about college students, it’s that they love a good hangover breakfast sandwich. And when Savi Provisions makes its university debut, we’re hoping they’ll have a bacon, egg, and cheese (made, of course, with organic, local ingredients) at the top of the deli menu.
