Alex Kinjo is moving forward with plans to open Kinjo Room & La Lau in The Interlock, at 1115 Howell Mill Road.

Kinjo recently filed a permit application with the City of Atlanta to build out the new, 1,000 square-foot space. Construction is expected to total $40,000, according to the official filing, and planned work includes the buildout of “an existing restaurant space to include a dining room, bar, kitchen, sushi bar, to-go bar, and pick-up area.”

Kinjo Room & La Lau will operate as two separate concepts — a 20-seat, a la carte sushi eatery, and a casual Vietnamese restaurant, respectively. At La Lau, guests can expect Vietnamese coffee and banh mi on the go by way of a takeout window.

Kinjo was not reachable for comment which is not surprising considering the restaurateur is busier than ever. Kinjo is serving as the brand curator and designer for four recently-opened stalls in Chattahoochee Food Works.

Correction: an earlier version of this story erroneously stated Alex Kinjo is the restaurateur behind Anh’s Kitchen. Kinjo designed the original concept but is not an owner nor directly affiliated with either restaurant.
