Green Flash Brewing and Alpine Beer Company were recently acquired by Atlanta-based SweetWater Brewing, moving the local beer brands production to Fort Collins, CO. They apparently announced to staff at Alpine Beer Company’s Outpost that their location would close under the new parent company.
Last Friday, San Diego’s Mike Hess Brewing announced in a press release that they’ll be moving East, taking over the Alpine Beer Co. taproom, restaurant, and patio. The small town of Alpine is a popular stopping ground between San Diego and Julian for avid hikers, campers, and general outdoor enthusiasts.
Mike Hess Brewing operates five locations, mostly across San Diego with one location in the Bay Area. They most recently added a taproom at Seaport Village as part of the area’s revamp and are expected to hit the Los Angeles area in 2023, joining the West Harbor Waterfront in San Pedro.
In the social media announcement by Hess founders Mike Hess and Lynda Hess, they make mention of welcoming staff from Alpine’s Outpost to the Mike Hess brand. As usual, the location will provide another pet and kid-friendly gathering place to enjoy beers like the Hop Cloud Hazy IPA, Steel Beach Lager, and even the Free Flow Hard Seltzers.
Mike Hess Brewing anticipates their opening in Alpine in March 2022. Stay updated by following them on Instagram and see their full portfolio of craft beverages at their Website.
