A new self-proclaimed, taco-centric spot is launching soon in the Gaslamp. Taco Centro is in construction on Island at 5th Avenue, taking over the space formerly occupied by Berkeley Pizza which closed in 2020.

Owner Adrian Gutierrez and Co-Founder of Centro Hospitality Group tells What Now San Diego we can expect a fast-casual spot with a simple and straightforward menu of tacos, from carne asada to traditional al pastor. They’ll also offer burrito bowls and healthy options on their menu.

For those on the go, Gutierrez says convenience is key. They’ll be launching easy-to-order digital features and will offer third party delivery services so customers can easily access delicious tacos.

Taco Centro is in the process of renovating the former pizza place. They expect to be open in Spring 2022. Find Taco Centro on Instagram for updates and information.
