La Michoacana is planning to coming to the Bartow area soon, according to owner Hormizas Popoca. The location, confirmed by a plan review filing with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, will be at 1264 N. Broadway Avenue.
Other details surrounding the shop’s opening are unclear, including a timeline for when the business will begin operations, however, Popoca mentioned that they are in the process of remodeling.
According to Facebook, an eponymous store is set up in Haines City, offering paletas and ice cream. Popoca said that this store is managed by someone else, and it is unclear if they share a direct connection. Also, there is a chain of restaurants by the same name that appear frequently in malls and super centers like Walmart, but Popoca did not provide comment about any connection to this brand.
