Pollo Campero, a chicken franchise originating from Guatemala, is on the path of rapid expansion throughout the U.S. With the goal of opening 85 franchise locations by 2026, Pollo Campero now has its sights set on Arizona, where they plan to open 22 brick-and-mortar locations over the next five years

Director of Franchise Development Blas Escarcega and his team identified Arizona as a prime market for Pollo Campero, not only for the state’s rapid economic growth but also the influx of Latin American immigrants, who recognize the brand as the world’s largest Central American chicken franchise.

“We already have legacy customers out of Arizona who tell us that they travel as far as Los Angeles or Las Vegas just to visit Pollo Campero and take it home with them,” Escarcega said in a phone call with What Now Phoenix. He has plans to visit Phoenix this month to meet with prospective franchisees and scout locations for new stores.

“The goal is to sign new franchise development agreements by the end of this year. That way, Arizona will see its first Pollo Campero locations by the end of 2023 or early 2024,” Escarcega adds. For just over 50 years, Pollo Campero has delighted customers with flavor and quality you can taste in their Campero Fried or Citrus-Grilled, bone-in or boneless chicken, served with fresh sides, drinks and desserts.
