The owner of Williamsburg’s Cafe Colette is looking to take over the Lower East Side spot formerly occupied by Beloved Cafe.
Shortly after Beloved Cafe shut down, Cafe Colette’s owner Julie Park submitted an application on behalf of Moreish Hospitality to acquire the space. It is unclear at press time whether or not it will be a new concept or a second outpost of Cafe Colette. The application submitted to Manhattan Community Board 3 states that its trade name has not been decided, implying that it could be a new concept, however Park has not responded to multiple inquiries to confirm.
Cafe Colette is an American eatery and popular brunch spot in Williamsburg that has been open since 2010. It has tin ceilings and a zinc bar, contributing to its vintage vibe.
It bills itself as New American cuisine that uses local ingredients with flavors and techniques from Spain, Italy and Central America. It is open for morning coffee, brunch and dinner in its greenhouse garden. Its menu includes but is not limited to breakfast and brunch foods like breakfast tacos, french toast, arugula salad, a cheeseburger with fries and a salmon bowl, and dinner items like oysters, tagliolini and clams, fish tacos and steak. Its beverage options include the whole gamut of coffees, teas, cocktails, wines and beers.
