The name is unconfirmed, but a bar mostly made of ice is coming soon.
UPDATE (Nov. 15, 2011): Czar, Atlanta’s only ‘Vodka Ice Bar,’ coming soon
Discovery of an ice bar opening late December in the Buckhead area, heated up Atlantan’s Twitter feeds Monday night.
John Kessler with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, was the first to tweet a link to a Craigslist posting seeking servers and bartenders for an “Eastern European” ice bar. An ice bar is a drinking establishment primarily made of ice. That includes the seats, folks. Burr.
But here’s where it gets wet: the posting neglects to include the concept’s name or address.
So What Now Atlanta skimmed through our records of recently filed building permits and discovered one for “Melt” at the Ritz Carlton Residences on Peachtree Road in Buckhead, filed with City of Atlanta in October. The estimated cost of construction is a chilling, $312,000.00.
An ice bar called “Melt?” Makes sense to us.
We contacted the owners of the Craigslist posting but they were not immediately available.
Developing…
It’s called Czar Bar off of East Andrews. There’s a facebook page w/ very little info but this is defintely what you’re talking about. It’s in the same complex that Prohibition is in.

And this would be successful here in which alternate universe?

I love some of the wonderful attitudes people have (JonC). Will it be successful here? Who the knows? But, I’ll give it a shot. And I bet many others will too. It’s a business model that has succeeded in other places. And I hope it will succeed here too (whether or not I am a regular patron) because there’s always room for all types of businesses to try a concept, whether you want that concept to be in Atlanta or not.
Sounds cool! No pun intended lol
Good god this is lame
