The gooey chocolate chip cookie company, Levain Bakery, is opening its eighth New York City outpost in Flatiron.
Longtime friends Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald opened their flagship at 74th Street in the Upper West Side in 1995. What started as a secret neighborhood gem quickly became a major attraction that has since spread into multiple metropolitan areas including Boston, Chicago, D.C. and Los Angeles. It has locations throughout New York including in Astoria, Harlem, Noho, the Upper East Side and Williamsburg, as well as Winscott on Long Island. Its newest Flatiron outpost is a 3,318-square-foot space that was on the market for 19 months before being signed this July.
The bakery offers unique flavors of their signature soft and oozy 6-oz cookies ranging from rocky road to chocolate lovers, caramel coconut chocolate chip, dark chocolate peanut butter chip and their original chocolate chip walnut. It also offers a monthly club subscription for $49, as well as merchandise including tote bags ($15) and baseball caps ($18).
