The Oregon-based Dutch Bros Coffee is planning to expand throughout San Diego after the massive success of its other area locations.

The fast-casual coffee chain made its San Diego debut late last year with sites in Oceanside and Escondido. These stores ultimately became massive successes for the company, including Oceanside becoming the No. 1 performing store out of Dutch Bros 835 locations across 11 states, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Now, the company is doubling down and planning even more sites throughout the area. Two more locations will open in San Diego in the first half of next year, including Vista and Escondido.

“Our foray into San Diego has blown away every expectation we could have by a huge multiple,” Aaron Harris, the Dutch Bros executive leading the area expansion, tells the Union-Tribune.

Previously, What Now San Diego reported on Dutch Bros opening a new location in Vista at 2645 Melrose Dr. Now it appears the company will be opening its first Vista location at 2665 S. Melrose Drive, located on the corner of South Melrose Drive and Faraday Avenue next to the Hyatt Place Vista-Carlsbad, according to The Coast News Group. This site is expected to open in early 2024.

Earlier this month, the Planning Commission approved a permit for another Dutch Bros in Vista at 1025 E. Bobier Drive in the former home of a Bank of America. There is not an exact opening date for the second Vista site. A second Escondido Dutch Bros location at 507 W. Washington Avenue is also in the early planning stages. Finally, the company is working on a new location in Chula Vista. Harris tells the Union-Tribune that his goal is to open a couple more by 2025.
