The founder of Cloverdale’s Healthy Haven plans to debut a new concept in the city — this time, a wine lounge and farm-to-table restaurant, The Beet.
Founder and Owner Kristi Shehan tells What Now San Francisco that she intends to bring values from Healthy Haven to the upcoming eatery — meaning lots of health and wellness-focused options with “homegrown flavor.”
Locals can expect the wine program to offer local California wines as well as options from Italy and Southern Europe — and, while the food menu is still being developed, “small, unique plates” and caviar were mentioned.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Healthy Haven, the concept is known for its fresh-pressed juices and selection of gluten-free and vegan dishes — think waffles, grilled sandwiches, and acai bowls — that can be purchased online, as well as at Bay Area farmers’ markets.
The Beet is slated to open at 116 E 1st Street — near establishments such as Bakery El Palomo, LIFT Cycle & Health, and Wolf House Brewing — late this year. Stay tuned for updates.
