Little Brazil, a Brazilian eatery that was in the process of relocating to 7333 W 38th Ave in Wheat Ridge, has experienced a setback in opening. A fire broke out at the property in December, according to KDVR.

Originally, the restaurant was slated to open on January 17, but the blaze has interrupted those plans. No injuries were reported, and the company posted on social media that it was busy cleaning up and doing water and smoke remediation work.

Early last year, the company announced that it would be moving locations after a decade, to a “bigger and better space”. The new digs have an outdoor patio and will feature expanded menu options, adding Brazilian breakfast and weekend brunch.

While waiting to open, the restaurant encouraged patrons to buy discounted gift cards to use in the future. Earlier this week, Little Brazil said a reopening date will be announced soon.
