A Colorado-based restaurant group may be replacing its Seaport District steakhouse with another steakhouse.

According to a licensing board hearing page, Eddie Merlot’s at 505 Congress St is planning to transition into Sullivan’s Steakhouse. Both chains are part of Dividend Restaurant Group.

Eddie Merlot’s opened in Boston in 2021, following failed plans to launch at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel on Summer St, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

Though it operates 15 locations, Sullivan’s Steakhouse currently lacks a presence in the Northeast, with the nearest sites situated in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

The upscale eatery offers lunch and dinner with a menu featuring classic steakhouse fare. Expect a variety of bone-in cuts and house-cut steaks, as well as elevated dishes like broiled lobster tail, ahi tuna steak, and herb-brick chicken.

Dividend Restaurant Group co-founder and CEO Nishant Machado was not immediately available for comment, so stay tuned for further details as Sullivan’s Steakhouse plans its Massachusetts debut.
