A few months ago, What Now Boston reported that The Halal Guys would be expanding into Boston’s Fenway neighborhood. Now, the eatery is planning yet another local location.

According to a Boston Restaurant Talk source, the fast-casual halal franchise has set its sights on 799 Providence Hwy in Dedham. This information has been confirmed by a Design Review Advisory Board hearing page via the town’s website.

Franchisees Jamal Bourote and Imran Asghar are spearheading this new venture; they also plan to open a Dave’s Hot Chicken next door on Providence Hwy. The duo, who signed a multi-franchise agreement with Dave’s Hot Chicken in 2021, have made a habit of opening the two eateries side by side—a trend they’re continuing in the Fenway neighborhood.

Since its founding in 1990, The Halal Guys has grown from a handful of New York City food carts into an international franchise with more than 100 locations. The eatery offers a variety of certified halal dishes, including gyro sandwiches, falafel, chicken, assorted platters, and baklava.

Although an official opening date has not yet been announced, town permits indicate that renovations are currently underway.
