Red O – a high-end Mexican restaurant by chef Rick Bayless – appears to be inching closer to debuting its Westlake Village outpost after experiencing delays. Though it was originally slated for spring 2024, a representative for the brand says they are now targeting late September. They also appear to be looking for a general manager and will start hiring in July, per a listing on Indeed.

“Each RED O dining venue embodies a resort environment that tailors to all senses for each and every guest,” says the eatery’s website. “With our highly-attentive service staff and award-winning menus, you will be guided through an experience that celebrates the best Taste of Mexico.”

The Westlake Village location’s menu has not yet been posted, but it is said to be offering “a unique variety of Baja-inspired seafood, unique Mexican plates, and craft cocktails.”

Chef Bayless is an American chef best known for his PBS series, “Mexico: One Plate at a Time,” and has earned various accolades including a Michelin star, the title of Top Chef Masters, and several James Beard Awards. He first opened Red O on Melrose Ave. in 2010.

UPDATE: This story has been updated to include mention of Red O’s target opening date of late September.
