New Belgium Brewing is Expanding into South San Francisco

New Belgium Brewing, the Colorado brewery known for Fat Tire amber ale, is looking to begin manufacturing beer in South San Francisco.

New Belgium Brewing has applied for a Beer Manufacturer’s license with the California Alcoholic Beverage Control for a new location at 432 N Canal Street #14, South San Francisco.

The application has been pending as of Sept. 16. What Now San Francisco reached out to a representative for New Belgium about the intended use of the facility, but didn’t receive a response.

The Colorado brewery known for Fat Tire amber ale currently has a taproom and full restaurant at 1000a 3rd Street in San Francisco that opened in April 2021. Nationwide, they have five locations throughout Denver, San Francisco, Asheville in North Carolina, and Fort Collins in Colorado.

According to Eater San Francisco, New Belgium is owned by Lion in Sydney, a subsidiary of Kirin in Japan, whose portfolio also includes Fourpure, Little Creatures, and Magic Rock Brewing.
