Lounge Chinatown, a fast-casual restaurant inspired by Asian night markets, is soon coming to 366 8th Street in Oakland, according to owner Johnny Chang.
Chang shared with What Now San Francisco that Lounge Chinatown will serve Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine. Patrons will be able to customize their meals, dictating everything from the way the ingredients are cooked—grilled, slow cooked, deep fried—to the sauce flavor and spice level. The menu will also offer lunch and dinner sets.
Chang and his team are currently preparing the space, a former kebab restaurant spanning 2,000 square feet and able to seat up to 50 people. The owner informed What Now San Francisco that the restaurant will be ideal for late-night dining, as he plans to keep it open as late as 2 am.
The opening date is expected to be in early November.
